White River is a highly sought after area in the Kruger Lowveld region of Mpumalanga. A charming town with streets lined with flowering trees providing a peaceful atmosphere. A firm favourite to visit for locals and tourists alike is Casterbridge - formerly a mango plantation, this relaxed attractive lifestyle centre is filled with wonderful shops and restaurants - definitely a must-see when visiting White River.

White River has many fine dining places, while local delis and road side stalls are filled with tropical and citrus fruits and nuts. Businesses are mostly directed at tourism, however the town provides a well-rounded infrastructure which caters to all requirements.

Every Saturday the town is a hive of activity with the market selling home-made goods. The farms in this area produce tropical fruits, vegetables, flowers and timber. With the draw-card of the dams, the proximity to the Kruger National Park and number of nearby forests makes White River an ideal holiday spot.
